If Jesus Needed Forty Days How Many Do I Need?

I don’t know why silence and solitude with God are so counter-cultural. We can spend a week alone hunting and no one says, “be careful of isolation.” We can spend two weeks on a business trip or a month on a mission trip away from family and no one bats an eye. We send our soldiers to spend six months or a year on tour away from home and they are heroes. But if Kingdom men slip away for five days to be alone with Yahweh they are told to hurry and get back to “real ministry.” But Mary has chosen that good part and it will not be taken from her.
Meeting with God is the most important meeting a man will ever have. If Jesus needed forty straight days alone with the Father what do I need? He spent 40 days without speaking to anyone, healing anyone, or preaching. Not to recharge the batteries or “pull back” but for communion. Yahweh is scheduling meetings. Book your appointment today. Better is one day in His courts than anywhere else.
